What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to health that combines scientific understanding and the belief in the body's innate ability to heal. It uses natural therapies, such as herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, diet, and lifestyle, to support the body in healing itself and restoring well-being. Naturopathy focuses on identifying and managing the underlying causes of disease, rather than just treating symptoms. It recognizes that each person is unique and requires an individualized approach to treatment.
Treatment Options
Naturopathy offers a range of treatment options, including:
- Herbal medicine: Plants are the oldest form of medicine and have been used for thousands of years. Herbs work in many different ways to assist the body in healing and reducing a variety of symptoms. Emily may prescribe herbal medicine in the form of tea, liquid tonic specifically formulated for your needs, or herbal tablets.
- Nutritional medicine: Good nutrition is essential for the health and function of every cell in our body. Assessment of your nutritional status is needed to help determine the optimal dose of nutrients you may require. Emily may recommend dietary changes, nutritional supplements, or a combination of both.
- Dietary and lifestyle guidance: Emily will work with you to identify any dietary or lifestyle factors that may be contributing to your health issues. She will provide practical and sustainable advice to help you make positive changes.
