Restore Balance, Restore Harmony
Welcome to our practice, where we are committed to providing holistic healthcare services that cater to your unique needs. We are a team of experienced healthcare professionals who are dedicated to helping you achieve optimal health and well-being. Our services include acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition counseling, all of which are designed to support your body's natural healing processes.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that has been used for over 2000 years to treat a wide range of conditions. At our practice, we use acupuncture to clear energy blockages in your body's meridians, which helps to restore the normal flow of Qi or energy. We choose points along the pathway according to your specific diagnosis, and patients often report a deep sense of relaxation once the needles are in place. Acupuncture promotes healing by restoring balance and alignment in your body, which may improve circulation, decrease pain and inflammation, and promote organ function.
The Acupuncture Evidence Project published a review of evidence in 2017 supporting the efficacy of acupuncture for 122 conditions, with evidence of effect for 117 of them. Notably, acupuncture has been found to be effective for allergic rhinitis, knee osteoarthritis, chemotherapy-induced nausea, migraine, lower back pain, headache, neck pain, peri and postmenopausal symptoms, anxiety, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Conditions
We offer acupuncture and herbal medicine services to support a range of conditions, including:
- Fertility/IVF support: We work with women trying to achieve pregnancy, tailoring the experience to suit each couple's circumstances.
- Menopause: We believe that menopause and the years leading up to it do not have to be an ordeal for women. Our nutrition and East Asian Medicine aim to support women's health during this time.
- Women's Health: Our practitioner is passionate about helping women achieve pain-free, regular, and healthy cycles. We believe that many menstruation-related issues are caused by internal cold and stagnation, and we use acupuncture and herbs to increase the flow of Qi to counter this.
- Pain: We believe that pain is a sign of a lack of Qi flow in the affected area. We use acupuncture and herbal medicine to restore Qi flow, which helps to reduce pain and promote repair and healing.
- Cancer: While East Asian Medicine is not recommended as the primary treatment modality for cancer, there is some evidence that it can assist with chemotherapy and radiation therapy-related side effects. Cancer patients should speak to their Western doctors about taking a team approach to care.
- Headache: Acupuncture may be effective as a pain relief technique for headaches. We use a number of acupuncture points depending on the nature and location of your headaches.
- Anxiety and depression: From an East Asian Medicine perspective, anxiety and depression are caused by a disruption of Qi energy. We use acupuncture and herbs to restore Qi energy, promoting emotional balance and mental well-being.
Herbal Medicine
Our herbal medicine services are designed to support your body's natural healing processes. We use a variety of herbs and formulas to tailor treatments to your specific needs. Our practitioner has extensive knowledge of Chinese herbs and their properties, and we only use high-quality herbs that have been tested for safety and efficacy.
Nutrition
Good nutrition is essential for optimal health and well-being. At our practice, we offer nutrition counseling services to support your health goals. We believe that food is medicine, and we use a holistic approach to nutrition, taking into account your lifestyle, preferences, and health history. Our nutrition counseling services include meal planning, recipe suggestions, and supplement recommendations.
