Born and raised in the country of Victoria, I moved to Sydney at the age of 28, following a divorce. With a background in corporate life as an Executive Assistant to CEOs, I honed my skills in organisation and event planning. However, my life took a dramatic turn when our family became displaced by the 9/11 attacks. This experience ignited a deep desire to serve and help others in times of crisis.
Embarking on a Journey of Service
Driven by a spirit of empathy and a desire to make a difference, I joined the American Red Cross in New York City. Working as a Caseworker, I had the privilege of supporting and guiding victims of the tragedy. This experience was transformative, inspiring me to pursue further avenues of service.
Following my return to Sydney, I joined the Australian Red Cross. Initially volunteering in Disaster Services, I eventually joined the Volunteer First Aid (VAD) team, providing first aid at community events. My dedication and leadership qualities were recognized, and I eventually became Team Leader of both the First Aid and Disaster teams. Over the years, I have been involved in numerous disaster responses, providing support to individuals and communities affected by floods, hailstorms, bushfires, and other emergencies.
A Passion for Ceremonies and Celebrations
Throughout my journey, I have witnessed firsthand the profound significance of ceremonies and celebrations in uplifting and unifying communities. Whether it be a wedding, renewal of vows, baby naming, or any other life milestone, every ceremony holds a unique and special meaning. This realization led me to pursue my passion for event planning and officiating ceremonies.
