Our Story

Hi! I'm Tracey, the founder and owner of Shutter Photography. Growing up, photography has been my passion. I remember receiving my first camera as a Christmas present at the age of 13 and being thrilled to take over my sister's living room for a photoshoot the same day! It wasn't until a few years later that I realized I wanted to make a career out of photography. After studying photography in the evenings while working as a Children's Photographer during the day, I eventually left school and embarked on the journey of owning my own photography company.

Our Journey

I spent years honing my skills, working in various studios, and traveling the world before finally deciding to strike out on my own. In 2002, my sister and I packed our bags and headed to Europe for a five-year adventure. We thought we'd last maybe six to twelve months, but life had other plans. Five years later, I returned to Australia and finally took the leap, opening Shutter Photography in November 2007.

Our Passion

As a photographer, I'm not just capturing moments; I'm creating memories for families to treasure for generations to come. I'm thrilled to have been recognized for my work, winning numerous local and international photography awards, including the Australian Photography of the Year award.

Our Studio

Located in Kilburn, our state-of-the-art studio is designed to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. With a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom, and playroom for siblings, we cater to families of all sizes. Our studio is designed to create stunning and elaborate scenes for our Cake Smash and Christmas Sessions, as well as designing beautiful sets for our family portraits and special Mummy & Me mini sessions throughout the year.
