As a small design studio, we pride ourselves on offering personalised service in a friendly and efficient manner. Our sole practitioner, Michael Lever, is passionate about design and has over 17 years of professional experience designing homes on the Central Coast. Michael has a deep understanding of the principles of residential design, as well as practical hands-on experience in having completed many building projects personally.

At Lever Designs, communication is vital to the design process. Michael's experience as a trainer enables him to communicate effectively with clients, allowing them to express their dreams and ideas and participate fully in the design process. We believe that design is a collaborative process, and we involve our clients as much as possible in the design process.

• 3D designs: We provide 3D designs, videos, and photo-realistic images, allowing you to see your designs in full 3D before committing to any design.
• Plans for Council: We take the mystery and hassle out of submitting your plans to council or a private certifier. We prepare all the necessary forms and reports, ensuring a smooth and stress-free process.
• Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Designs: We specialise in creating sustainable and energy-efficient designs that will save you money long into the future. We are committed to giving you a cost-effective design that meets your unique needs.

Michael is committed to sustainable design and the care of the environment. When not studying architecture or designing homes, he enjoys yoga, gardening, painting, and drawing. It is the synthesis of these interests that guides his work and helps bridge the gap between the abstract and the real.

Design Philosophy

At Lever Designs, we believe that good design should meet the needs of the occupants, sit well on the site, be logical, and use materials honestly. We offer suggestions, technical advice, and guidance through a sometimes confusing process. We believe that every client should have a major input into the design of their building.

We work from home, keeping costs to a minimum and creating a more relaxed atmosphere. We prefer to involve our clients as much as possible in the design process, developing the design in a series of small steps with your involvement at every stage. We believe people know what they want, and we are here to help them develop a design that works for them.

Michael has been vegan for over 20 years and is keenly aware of how animal farming contributes to climate change. He won a commendation award for environmental and energy-efficient building for a home he designed for himself in the Blue Mountains in 2007. His previous home in Empire Bay has been opened to the public as part of the "Sustainable House Day."

We are proud to have been awarded the Building Designers Association (BDA) of N.S.W. Commendation Award for Environmental and Energy Efficient Buildings in 2007 for a traditional styled cottage in the Blue Mountains.
